Meet the Team: Regio, Paola, Julian, & Katherine!

IFCLA is thrilled to be entering 2024 with incredible new team members who have joined in the past few months! Meet Regio Rodriguez (he/him), IFCLA's newest Co-Director and Operations Manager. Regio was born in Oklahoma, and raised in both Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Regio's passions in social justice come from community building and uplifting the voices of others. Meet our newest interns, Paola (she/her), Julian (he/him), and Katherine (she/her)! They will be supporting IFCLA with Policy, Organizing, & Operations! Learn more about our team members here.

Nos emociona entrar en 2024 con nueves e incredibles miembres del equipo de IFCLA que se han unido en los últimos meses. Support immigrants this 2024 MO Legislative Session!

IFCLA has been busy, gearing up for the 2024 Missouri Legislative Session, which began on January 3.

Anti-immigrant legislators have already filed bills that would:

• criminalize immigrants who fail to carry federal registration papers
• mark citizenship status on licenses
• create a registry of all immigrant workers in the state.

As we face these attacks on our humanity, we will band together to fight for the dignity of all Missourians! Take action: Email Gabby to learn more.

¡Defende a les inmigrantes esta sesion legislativa de Missouri 2024!

IFCLA ha estado muy ocupada, preparándose para la sesión legislativa de 2024 en Missouri, que comenzó el 3 de enero. 

Les legisladores anti-inmigrantes ya han presentado proyectos de ley que:

• criminalizarían a les inmigrantes que no lleven documentos de registro federal,
• marcarían el estado de ciudadanía en las licencias
• crearían un registro de todes les trabajadores inmigrantes en el estado.

Send a Letter to your representatives to Save Asylum!

The Senate and White House are still negotiating a supplemental funding deal that would implement an asylum ban, undermine humanitarian parole, drastically expand rapid deportations, and create a new expulsion policy similar to Title 42. All of this on top of an additional $8 billion for ICE and CBP! Take action today by sending letters to your House and Senate representatives!

Contribute a vessel to a Local Art Exhibit on Migration at the Luminary!

Loan a vessel from your home to an art exhibit on migration opening at 2pm on Saturday, February 3 at the Luminary! Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya is preparing to install a temporary monument at The Luminary as part of the upcoming Moving Stories in the Making: An Exhibition of Migration Narratives. Vessels can include (but are not limited to): bowls, vases, teapots, cups, baskets, etc., anything that carries the spirit of legacy, memory, and migration, with the exception of electronics. They will be cared for and returned to you the first week of April. Email jay.b@wustl.edu ASAP for details on how to contribute a vessel.

Presta un objeto de tu casa para una exposición de arte sobre la migración que se inaugurará el sábado 3 de febrero a las 14.00 horas en The Luminary. Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya está preparando la instalación de un monumento temporal en The Luminary como parte de la próxima Moving Stories in the Making: An Exhibition of Migration Narratives.
