ISPN Official Business 

The IFER Fund is reopening! The Immigrant Family Emergency Response (IFER) Fund is a direct cash assistance initiative designed to channel philanthropic giving directly to immigrant families in St. Louis who have experienced income disruption during the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications will be available online at the ISPN's website from May 24-31.

The ISPN & Wash U COVID-19 Impacts Project is seeking survey participants! We need your help in spreading the word! The ISPN & Washington University in St. Louis are teaming up on a project to understand and design collaborative initiatives regarding the impact of COVID-19 on immigrants and immigrant service providers in the St. Louis Region. There are two surveys: one geared toward service providers and the other for immigrant community members. The immigrant community member survey is available online in English, Spanish, Nepali, Arabic, & Mandarin. The survey is also available over the phone in additional languages at 314-935-3557. NEW! Through a partnership with PrepareSTL and the COVID-19 Regional Response Team (RRT), volunteer medical providers from BJC HealthCare and SSM Health are offering community-based vaccine education! Presentations will center the physical and material well-being of African Americans and Communities of Color, healing from trauma, and informed choice regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. Speakers will not encourage individuals to take the vaccine, but rather provide people-centered, factual information. Energy assistance is available to Ameren Missouri customers who need help paying their bills.  Learn more about various support options, including new and enhanced federally funded COVID-19 relief programs. NEW! Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced its new Emergency Broadband Benefit Program to help to lower the cost of broadband service for eligible households during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The $3.2B Emergency Broadband Benefit program provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for qualifying households on qualifying Tribal lands. The benefit also provides up to a $100 per household discount toward a one-time purchase of a computer, laptop, or tablet if the household contributes more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase through a participating broadband provider. NEW! The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has launched the Missouri Vaccine Navigator in English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Korean, Portuguese and Russian. All individuals over the age of 12 are now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Missouri, regardless of their citizenship. (Pfizer is the only vaccine authorized for those ages 12-17). Those with online accessibility issues are encouraged to call the COVID-19 hotline at 877-435-8411 for registration assistance. With support from the CDC and in partnership with NRC-RIMNACCHO has announced a funding opportunity for local health departments and community-based organizations (CBOs) to partner to rapidly to scale up innovative COVID-19 education, testing, contact tracing, vaccination, and other prevention and mitigation strategies with refugee, immigrant, and migrant (RIM) communities. NACCHO will provide funding and technical assistance to LHDs and their RIM community partners to implement at least one primary prevention strategy (for up to $175,000) with the option of implementing a secondary primary or secondary prevention activity (for up to $250,000). Potential applicants are encouraged to reach out to RIM-serving organizations or leaders in their communities or the LHD in their jurisdiction to partner to submit an application. Applications are due June 11, 2021 at 1:59 PM. The St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund (CSF) will be investing $1 million into historically underserved communities through the Grassroots Funding Program, focusing on lifting-up community-identified children’s behavioral health priorities and needs by funding smaller organizations already ingrained in the community. NEW! April 7 - June 1 (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM) FEMA's Community Vaccination Center providing the Pfizer vaccine is open at The Dome. 

  • Who: Missouri residents
  • Hours:  8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 7 days/week. 
  • Location:  The Dome at America’s Center, Entrance C (corner of Cole Street and Broadway) Free parking can be found across from Entrance C (at 6th and Cole Street). Shuttle service from the parking lot to the entrance is available. Broadway Central entrance is available to drop off/pick up people who use wheelchairs and need elevator access.
  • Registration: Walk-ins are welcome! Registration is available on-site. Save time by registering in advance through the MO Vaccine Navigator if you are able.
  • Vaccine: Pfizer, first and second dose available
  • No ID or other documentation is necessary to receive the vaccine.
  • Language Access: The State Vaccine Navigator is now available in English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Korean, Portuguese and Russian. FEMA is providing onsite interpretation for Spanish, Bosnian, and Vietnamese, as well utilizing a language line. NEW! May 25 (3:00 - 5:00 PM) Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer (1st dose) Vaccine Event. Vaccines will be adminstered at the Simon Recreation Center basketball courts on the main floor of the building (3639 Laclede Avenue). May 26 (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM) Digital Health Interventions for Depression and Diabetes in Underserved Populations, presented by Dr. Adrian Aguilera, sponsored by The Center for Mental Health Services Research at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. Dr. Aguilera’s research is focused on developing and testing technology-based interventions to address health disparities in low-income and vulnerable populations. Dr. Aguilera’s work has focused on utilizing mobile phone technology to disseminate mental health interventions. His interventions have primarily focused on using text messaging which has been applied 1) as an adjunct for cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT), 2) a public mental health intervention for COVID-19 related stress and anxiety and 3) a machine learning based intervention to personalize messages to motivate physical activity for individuals with diabetes and depression symptoms. NEW! June 3 - Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Event at the International Institute, in partnership with Affinia, St. Louis City, & ISPN. First doses of the Pfizer vaccine and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments can be made for those 12 years old or older. They will need a birth certificate or some form of ID to verify age and identity and a parent/guardian to be present to sign for consent during the vaccination. The clinic will be held in the International Institute gym with parking available on the back lot. Individuals are encouraged to show up no more than 15 minutes prior to their appointment.
