TODAY 1/9: Join the National Day of Action to Save Asylum!

Today, IFCLA joins immigrant justice organizations across the country in a national day of action to demand that Congress reject efforts to use migrants as political pawns in supplemental funding negotiations. The Senate and White House are close to a deal that would implement an asylum ban, undermine humanitarian parole, drastically expand rapid deportations, and create a new expulsion policy similar to Title 42. All of this on top of an additional $8 billion for ICE and CBP.

Take action today by making calls and sending letters to your House and Senate representatives!

HOY DIA 9 de enero: ¡Únete al Dia Nacional de Acción para Proteger el Asilo!

Hoy, IFCLA se une a organizaciones de justicia de inmigrantes por todo el país para un día nacional de acción a exigir que el Congreso rechace esfuerzos para utilizar a les inmigrantes como peones políticos en negociaciones de financiación suplementaria. El Senado y la Casa Blanca están a punto de llegar a un acuerdo que implementaría una prohibición de asilo, debilitaría las formas humanitarias de libertad condicional, ampliaría drásticamente los procedimientos de deportación express, y crearía una nueva política de expulsión similar a la política del Título 42. Todo esto además de los $8 mil millones para ICE y CBP.

Support immigrants this 2024 MO Legislative Session!

IFCLA has been busy, gearing up for the 2024 Missouri Legislative Session, which began on January 3.

Anti-immigrant legislators have already filed bills that would:

• criminalize immigrants who fail to carry federal registration papers
• mark citizenship status on licenses
• create a registry of all immigrant workers in the state.

As we face these attacks on our humanity, we will band together to fight for the dignity of all Missourians! Take action: Email Gabby to learn more.

¡Defende a les inmigrantes esta sesion legislativa de Missouri 2024!

IFCLA ha estado muy ocupada, preparándose para la sesión legislativa de 2024 en Missouri, que comenzó el 3 de enero. 

Les legisladores anti-inmigrantes ya han presentado proyectos de ley que:

• criminalizarían a les inmigrantes que no lleven documentos de registro federal,
• marcarían el estado de ciudadanía en las licencias
• crearían un registro de todes les trabajadores inmigrantes en el estado.

Join PSC, AMP, & more for STL for a Ceasefire Actions this week!

IFCLA calls on the St. Louis City Board of Alderman to join Akron, Atlanta, Chicago, Providence, Wilmington, and several other cities in calling for a ceasefire. Read our statement here. 

TAKE ACTION with Palestine Solidarity Committee’s STL for a Ceasefire Toolkit:

1. Join the Board of Aldermen Hearing tonight, 1/9, from 4-5:30pm on Zoom. Contact PSC to sign up to testify to why our alders should support a ceasefire!
2. Pack the Board of Aldermen Meeting this Friday, 1/12 at 10am at City Hall

IFCLA hace un llamamiento a la Junta de Concejales de la ciudad de San Luis para que se una a Akron, Atlanta, Chicago, Providence, Wilmington y varias otras ciudades en el llamamiento a un alto el fuego. Lee nuestra declaración aquí.

1. Únete a la audiencia de la Junta de Concejales esta noche, 1/9, de 4-5:30pm en Zoom. Contacta con el PSC para inscribirte para dar testimonio sobre por qué nuestres concejales deben apoyar un alto el fuego.

Transparency Update: Mutual Aid Overland Food Distributions Cancelled for the foreseeable future

IFCLA is sad to share that our January 14th Food Distribution with Mutual Aid Overland has been canceled due to unforseen supplier difficulties. We apologize to those impacted by this cancellation.

Unfortunately, an organization that was in Mutual Aid Overland’s food network acted in bad faith and took away their only reliable food source without prior notification, which impacts 90% of the food they source for distributions. IFCLA deeply appreciates Mutual Aid Overland’s transparency as a collaborator. We hope they are able to find new, sustainable food sourcing partnerships in the near future!

Actualizacion de transparencia: Las reparticiones de Ayuda Mutua Overland estan canceladas para el futuro previsible

IFCLA se entristece en compartir que nuestra distribución de alimentos del 14 de enero con Mutual Aid Overland ha sido cancelada debido a dificultades con los proveedores. Pedimos disculpas a les afectades por esta cancelación.

Lamentablemente, otra organización que formaba parte de la red de distribución de alimentos (no Ayuda Mutua Overland) actuó de mala fe y les retiró su única fuente fiable de alimentos sin notificación previa, lo que afecta al 90% de los alimentos de los que se abastecen para las distribuciones.
