Accompaniment Efforts / Programa de Acompañamiento

Throughout the month of February, the STL Pro-Se Clinics will be filling out work permit renewals applications! Appointments will be scheduled based on the availability of the volunteer and applicant. We need 8 bilingual volunteers to help with interpreting and 2 volunteers to support with copying and scanning. If you are interested, please email Allie Seleyman.

¡Durante el mes de febrero, las clínicas STL Pro-Se llenarán aplicaciones para la renovación de permisos de trabajo! La programación de las citas estará basada en la disponibilidad de la persona voluntaria y la persona que aplique. Necesitamos 8 personas voluntarias bilingües para ayudar con la interpretación y dos personas voluntarias para ayudar con fotocopias y escaneo. Policy Update / Política Pública

It has been over a year since President Biden took office, and much work has yet to be done to protect immigrant rights. Click here to view the We Are Home campaign’s report of progress on campaign promises. We demand that the Biden Administration fulfill its commitments on immigration.

The Missouri Legislature is in session and the last day to file bills is March 1st. IFCLA is committed to building a base of agents of social change. Join us for another advocacy skills workshop at the end of February. More details to follow.

Ha pasado más de un año desde que el presidente Biden comenzó su término en la oficina presidencial, y mucho trabajo continúa pendiente para proteger los derechos de las personas inmigrantes. Take action for the Guapinol / Toma Acción por Guapinol

Take action for the Guapinol water defenders today! The eight water defenders have spent over 2 years in prison on trumped-up charges for defending the Guapinol and San Pedro rivers from a mining operation led by Honduran mining company Inversiones Los Pinares with investment ties to the largest U.S. steel companies, Nucor Corporation. To read more about the trial thus far, click here. This Friday morning, concluding remarks for the trial will be delivered in Tocoa, Colon. So far the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa has not attended the trial, and it is important they witness this gross violation of human rights.

ISPN General Meeting / Reunión General de ISPN

The Immigrant Service Providers Network is meeting on February 23 at 9am. The ISPN's monthly general meetings focus on bringing service providers together to connect and participate in cross-collaborative work. One year into Biden’s presidency, systemic abuses by ICE and CBP persist, the number of people in detention has nearly doubled, and over 1.8 million people have been deported and expelled. Conociendo La Migra, Workshop 2 / Conociendo La Migra, Taller 2

The workshop series for Spanish-speaking immigrants "Conociendo La Migra" is back with its second virtual workshop on Wednesday March 9, from 7-9pm. Following the inquiries of compas that we accompany, we will explore the question of why immigrants are criminalized and abused in the US, especially while being held in detention. More details coming soon.

La serie de talleres para inmigrantes que hablan español "Conociendo La Migra," está de vuelta con su segundo taller virtual el miércoles 9 de marzo, de 7-9pm. Siguiendo los comentarios que hemos recopilado de compas que acompañamos, exploraremos la pregunta de por qué les inmigrantes son criminalizades y abusades en EEUU, especialmente mientras están en detención. Pro Se Asylum Clinic / Clínica Pro Se de Asilo

On March 12, we will be holding a pro se asylum clinic alongside CLAM and MICA. Through these clinics, we have the opportunity to walk alongside compas as they navigate the immigration process. En marzo 12, tendremos una clínica pro se de asilo junto a CLAM y MICA. A través de estas clínicas, tenemos la oportunidad de caminar junto a compas mientras navegan el proceso de inmigración.
