NEW! The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is partnering with the U.S. Department of Treasury to provide the Emergency Rental Assistance program (ERA) available through the American Rescue Plan Act. The rental assistance under ERA will help cover rent, utilities, and other housing costs to keep residents in their homes. Sent by Mirza Bijedic, Better Family Life

NEW! Rental assistance is available to help renters and landlords. For renters having trouble paying rent, utilities, other housing costs, or landlords trying to stay afloat with tenants in this situation. State and local programs are distributing billions of dollars in rental assistance to help renters stay housed during the pandemic. NEW! Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) is a temporary benefit for children who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch but did not receive meals at school or day care due to closure, hybrid, or virtual learning. This benefit will help cover food costs from September 2020 through May 2021. NEW! Home Sweet Home has a warehouse of donated furniture, mattresses and home goods for community members by referral. To receive furniture, a partner agency must recommend and pay a small referral fee, and then the client can shop for free to get home goods needed, with the help of a trained volunteer. NEW! The St. Louis Queer+ Support Helpline (SQSH) is launching a Queer Immigrant Outreach Project to make its helpline and resources more accessible to LGBTQIA+ immigrants and refugees. To make sure that the Queer Immigrant Outreach Project is driven by community needs, they are launching a Needs Assessment Survey for LGBTQIA+ immigrants/refugees and their family, children, partners, friends, and service providers to complete - and they need your help to fill it out and spread the word! August 20-21 The Metropolitan St. Louis Equal Housing and Opportunity Council (EHOC) and partners are hosting a Rental Assistance Application event at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park. As the eviction moratoriums end, thousands of families are facing eviction and homelessness. Rental assistance is available to help families stay in their homes. This event will help St. Louis City residents apply for rental assistance. Register here.
