The ISPN & Wash U COVID-19 Impacts Project is seeking survey participants! We need your help in spreading the word! The ISPN & Washington University in St. Louis are teaming up on a project to understand and design collaborative initiatives regarding the impact of COVID-19 on immigrants and immigrant service providers in the St. Louis Region. There are two surveys: one geared toward service providers and the other for immigrant community members. The immigrant community member survey is available online in English, Spanish, Nepali, Arabic, & Mandarin. The survey is also available over the phone in additional languages at 314-935-3557. NEW! St. Louis City has received $7.5 million in federal Emergency Rental Assistance to help people pay past-due rent and utilities, with more on the way soon, and St. Louis County has received nearly $29.8 million. This comes as a result of President Biden signing his new American Rescue plan into law, securing $4.75 billion in supportive services, affordable housing and non-congregate shelter space for the unhoused, $22.5 billion in emergency rental and utility assistance, and $10 billion to support homeowners.

There is a federal moratorium in place through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention until June 30th, 2021 that prevents evictions in certain cases. This video can help you find out if you qualify for protections or you may read the options at the top of this form. To secure your eviction protection, you must submit this form to the individual or company you rent from. NEW! The National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM) looks to identify individuals and teams to discuss works in progress, strategies, approaches, or programs for the anticipated rollout of vaccinating children and the anticipated ongoing age step down of vaccination for children in migrant communities. This may include lessons learned from prior vaccination campaigns with children and families in migrant communities (e.g., seasonal flu) that might be applicable to COVID vaccination efforts. The Office of State Courts Administrator (OSCA) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the upcoming foreign language court interpreter certification orientation workshop. This orientation is conducted by nationally recognized experts on court interpretation and is open to individuals 18 and older who have a native-like ability to speak and understand English and another language. The workshop provides instruction and materials regarding the different modes of interpreting, professional ethics, legal terms and the court system. To register, print and complete the attached application and the attached document regarding fingerprinting services. When completing the online information and when asked for a Registration Number, input 5936. Many questions regarding the fingerprinting process have been answered on the website. This workshop has a fee of $260. Mail checks or money orders (made out to "State of Missouri"), authorizations for a background check and completed applications to: MO Office of State Courts Administrator, Attention: Court Interpreter Certification, P.O. Box 104480, Jefferson City, MO 65110. Through a partnership with PrepareSTL and the COVID-19 Regional Response Team (RRT), volunteer medical providers from BJC HealthCare and SSM Health are offering community-based vaccine education! Presentations will center the physical and material well-being of African Americans and Communities of Color, healing from trauma, and informed choice regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. Speakers will not encourage individuals to take the vaccine, but rather provide people-centered, factual information. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has launched the Missouri Vaccine Navigator in English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Korean, Portuguese and Russian. All individuals over the age of 12 are now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Missouri, regardless of their citizenship. (Pfizer is the only vaccine authorized for those ages 12-17). Those with online accessibility issues are encouraged to call the COVID-19 hotline at 877-435-8411 for registration assistance. The Gateway Region YMCA offers free, virtual reading tutoring to youth in 1st - 12th grades who are behind in reading. This tutoring takes place once a week through Zoom and is free regardless of Y membership.
