Volunteer Training & Sign-up Form

The Immigrant Family Emergency Response (IFER) Fund is a direct cash assistance initiative designed to channel philanthropic giving directly to immigrant families in St. Louis who have experienced income disruption during the COVID-19 pandemic. This training will equip volunteers with the tools necessary to support with applications and fund distribution.

Volunteers will be assisting in the following roles:

Application Support: remote role; bilingual proficiency recommended. Volunteers in this role will assist compas over the phone with completing the online application. Though applications will be primarily received online, volunteers are providing assistance for those with literacy and internet needs.
Confirmation/Verification Calls: remote role; bilingual proficiency recommended. Volunteers will support staff as needed to verify payment details for funded applicants (ie. confirming name and address for payment by check).
Fund Distribution (team of 2): full vaccination recommended; reliable transportation required; bilingual proficiency recommended. A team of two IFCLA volunteers will meet compas at a mutually-agreed upon location to deliver funds and get the compa's signature on a cash receipt.
